unique date idea : Do A Food Truck Tour

When date night rolls around, a lot of times you just fall back on the old classics: going to a movie or going out for drinks. Sometimes date nights can feel a little stale, so why not try something different? For this week’s date idea, we’re taking you on a food truck tour! Food trucks have been popping up all over the place lately and they’re always cooking up some amazing treats. They’ve become such an attraction that even celebrities have been spotted at them!

The best part is that it doesn’t have to be expensive because all of these options are cheaper than dinner most nights of the week. Scroll down to find out how you can take advantage of all the delicious. If you need more date ideas , check out our date guide page.

Let’s start with the date idea that is perfect for even the newest of couples: ice skating! Head to your local rink and skate around while you chat; it feels like something out of a movie scene, doesn’t it? You can leave right away or stay to enjoy an evening snack. There will be lots of options, but if you want something nostalgic (that’s also totally fun), head over to Meltkraft . They’ve got grilled cheeses on their menu, which are always delicious. The best part is that they serve them inside pretzel buns—how clever! Not only do they taste amazing together, but there’s just something about bread inside bread that makes it all the more satisfying! Plus, there are all kinds of toppings to choose from that can totally change up the flavor.

If you’re looking for something with a little more spice (and less carbs), you can always head down to Kogi BBQ . They’re known for their tacos, but they’re also on the fancier side of food trucks. Not only do they look pretty , but they taste amazing; some date night dinners don’t even compare! One thing we’d recommend is getting one of their specialties like the Korean Chicken or Steak Quesadilla, and splitting it with your date. It’s easy to make two separate tacos out of most dishes, so half is plenty per person. Now you can try both flavors and figure out which is your favorite!

Another date night classic with a twist has to be burgers. Who doesn’t love burgers? Today, they’ve gotten pretty fancy (think: truffle fries and bacon jam); Grilled Cheese Truck knows what’s up. If you like gourmet burgers, this date idea is perfect for you. They’ve got one called the “Billionaire Burger” that has gruyere cheese and caramelized onions on it—you can even add an egg if you’re feeling adventurous.

To take things in a totally different direction , why not ice cream ? Nothing screams date night like walking down the street licking some soft serve…okay, maybe we’re projecting a little bit, but still! We’d recommend treating yourself and your date to a date at Rita’s Ice . You can either get a classic like their Creamsicle or you can try something different like the Mangonada.

If date night rolls around and it’s raining cats and dogs outside, we’d recommend taking advantage of that (besides, who wants to be cooped up all night?). We’d recommend checking out some museums in your area or visiting an art gallery; there are bound to be some unique ones in your neighborhood. If museums aren’t really your thing but you’re always open to trying new things , head out for  happy hour ! There’s bound to be one near-by and they usually have delicious appetizers on their menus. If you don’t want to stop for a full meal, pop in and share the fries; we’re thinking date night should be more about quality time than quantity.

Or! If your date night is on a Friday or Saturday (and you’re looking to go all out), book yourself somewhere nice . It doesn’t have to be anything fancy like an expensive restaurant; it can be something as simple as cooking together at home. Either way, try to dress up and make yourselves look presentable to really set the mood. You can either cook dinner together or order in some food if you don’t want a hot meal—just make sure it’s date appropriate so that you both feel comfortable! After you’ve eaten your fill, head out for dessert ; no date night is complete without it.
