– go to a convenience store and buy something with the least amount of money possible
– find free things around you, such as paper clips stuck to a bulletin board, an open door, etc. and take pictures of each (you can even time yourself and compare the results) – bring a marker to a local area that is known for graffiti and see which of you two can write their initials on the most surfaces – give your date three words to put together in an order they would like – if it’s warm out, pick up as many leaves as you can off of one tree – look inside every bathroom stall until you find something inside (like a secret message or phone number) …and so on and so on
How to play: If you’re having trouble coming up with ideas, just ask your date what they would like to do. You can also use the list of options above as a starting point and go from there! It’s always more fun when you explore things together. Just try not to get too frustrated if some missions seem impossible or take a long time – it all depends on who you ask!

When I am asked that question it makes me think of the quote from Jurassic Park where Dr Grant is talking to Tim about an earlier disaster and says “you were on that island four weeks & you’re asking if things are better?” That’s kind of how I feel when people ask me that question – like saying “is life all sunshine and rainbows now” haha. It took a lot of tears, sleepless nights, lots of counselling sessions, online dating, awkward dates, long conversations with close friends & family and a lot of heartache to get to this point. I’m certainly not where I thought I would be at this stage in my life but the Lord’s got me exactly where He wants me…so how was your first date? Reply August 19th, 2014 at 12:07 am Hi! Oh that one is so hard for me too! haha You can tell she hasn’t read much into my story here because it sure doesn’t sound like things are “all sunshine and rainbows now” if you ask me. No they’re definitely not all sunshine and rainbows now – just hope again instead of despair or numbness. The comfort comes from people who love you being there for you and walking with you through it all. It also comes from the Lord who is with me every step of my long journey. Anyhow, I am looking forward to reading your blog now that you’ve started writing it! Reply August 25th, 2014 at 1:18 pm Thanks so much 🙂 Reply April 17th, 2015 at 12:50 am Hi Theron! Oh it’s not too bad – the last date was about a week ago so I’m off dating now until I meet someone special again 🙂 Hoping for lots of sunshine & rainbows in the near future. Have fun on your next date night out! Best Wishes – AlyssaReply · 20 months
