unique date idea: Paint and build a model you are both interested in

We have all been there at one point or another, either with a significant other or alone. There are times when you want to go out and do something, but you just don’t know what. I think that the perfect date idea for those people is to paint and build a model together.

I feel like this could be an excellent first date idea because it gives the conversation time to move forward naturally while also being able to avoid certain “get to know you” topics that can make first dates uncomfortable (ie religion). If both parties enjoy themselves, it could turn into something more permanent such as starting an art collection together, building LEGO sets or even taking classes on how to build models or paint etc.

Model kits are typically very affordable and can be found at almost any department or craft store. They do range in price and quality, but you could even just buy an unpainted model that both parties would enjoy doing together

This date idea is also very versatile because the possibilities are endless. You could paint a Gundam model robot from an anime series, build a city out of LEGO for your kids, or even paint the bedroom furniture you bought last week to give it a different look.

If this sounds like something that interests you or your significant other, try building a model today! It’s cheap and easy enough to not be overwhelming, but still has an incredibly high chance of being fun for everyone involved.

What do you think? Is building models with my boyfriend on the horizon?

Article background information [to use as knowledge, not to be copied verbatim]: Any Walmart or Target will have quite a few models for you to choose from. Pick something you both like and try painting and gluing it together. If you both enjoy it and it turns out well, maybe you found a new hobby. If it turns out terribly, at least you both can have a laugh, and you have a good story.

So on your first date together, you want to do something that is fun and builds on the conversation. What you are looking for is a unique activity that does not revolve around drinking but can allow some funny stories to be told after. This unique first date idea gives the couple opportunities to learn about each other by talking about what they are working on, sharing their own experiences with it or even just laughing at yourself if things go wrong.

However, I would only recommend this as an interesting concept for your first date because it might be too time-consuming to keep up with relationship-wise. Building models takes hours of patience and concentration which may not give enough time for the couple to get involved emotionally in one another right away. You also need to understand that if this does become a hobby, you will be investing time in both the hobby and the relationship; it is possible that one may interfere with the other.

I do think that this activity could work for couples though who are already established because there is the opportunity for great communication when coming up with ideas or planning out their painting scheme. It also allows partners to compromise when they cannot agree on what model to buy; they can each pick out something they would like to build and then share their experiences with it later in life. This unique first date idea might also grow into an interest in collecting models together which means your partner would always know exactly where you wanted to go when you had an itch for some good arts and crafts time.

I personally love this idea because I grew up learning how to build models thanks to my father who was an aviation enthusiast! It is also an incredibly fun idea if your significant other also has this hobby because then they are able to learn even more about you by teaching you the tricks to their model-building process. So I would recommend this idea to anyone who has a strong interest in art and enjoys spending time with other people since building models is a great way to bond with someone over a new hobby that may become an activity that your significant other and yourself can do together for years into the future.
