unique date idea: Go to an auction

Are you looking for something fun to do on your next date? Try checking out an auction. You might be surprised to find that there are auctions happening all the time, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find one near you.

The first thing you want to decide is if you want to go as bidders or spectators. If you go as spectators, expect a lot of people dressed in tuxedos and evening gowns; businessmen; collectors; secretaries; workers; etc. If you go as bidders, then dress down (casual/business casual). Before the start of the auction, everyone who goes as a bidder gets pre-registered (so they know how much money each person has available), but they still want everyone to dress up.

So, if you go as bidders, do some research on what you are bidding on before the auction starts. If you know exactly what you are looking for, then find out who is selling it, how much they are asking for it, and whether or not this is something that can be negotiated. If it’s open for negotiation, ask them to start the bidding at a lower amount so that whoever wins will have gotten a good price. This also shows the seller that you are serious about buying their item.

If you go as spectators, just enjoy all of the exciting auctions! Make sure to look around at everything there because there could be an interesting surprise waiting for you! And if you find an item that you like, make sure to buy it too!

Just going to an auction can be a lot of fun and there are auctions happening all the time. So make sure to check one out; we know we would love for you to go with us!

This is not intended as a guide on how to conduct yourself at auctions. It is here to answer the question: what is an interesting date idea that we could do together?

Hence, one might ask “is checking out auctions a fun thing to do on a date?” and the answer would be: only if you want it to be. It can also depend on your specific tastes, as attending auctions isn’t for everyone.

The article continues with definitions of bidders vs spectators (aka buyers vs observers). The author recommends dressing down (clothes-wise) if you go as a bidder; this sounds like good advice, but since it’s not directly linked to the auction experience itself one might just as well decide differently and dress up instead. You decide what works best you and your significant other(s).

The article then continues with some advice on what to do and what not; if you go as a bidder, investigate the item before the auction starts. Before closing out, author reiterates that this article is not about how to conduct yourself at auctions: it’s here to answer the question of “what is an interesting date idea we could do together?” So if you’re interested in more information on conducting oneself at auctions, please find another source (Wikipedia might be your best bet since they have a pretty thorough guide on auctions ).

Conclusion: The article has been written well and makes for an enjoyable read. If checking out auctions is something that excites you or your partners in crime, then by all means check them out. If it’s not, then there’s no need and you can (and should) find other date-night suggestions.

One of the definitions of an auction is that it’s “an offering to sell something for a price by competitive bidding”. There are all kinds of auctions going on at any point in time. You can find some unique date ideas if you look for specific types of auctions. For example, I know there are several estate auctions near me each month, which might be fun to check out because they always have vintage items and antiques! If you live near Washington DC I found an interesting article about the job market being hot for interns . Hope this helps!

Title: One way to think about different types of auctions

Great article, I had no idea there were so many different types of auctions. One way to think about the different kinds of auctions is what you might see at a football game or some type of event where people are bidding on things. If an auctioneer is doing it right they will have the audience engaged and active in the bidding process. This can be fun for both bidders and onlookers!
