Romantic date ideas: Cook a new recipe together

In today’s world, most people work from 9 to 5, and have at least one weekend day dedicated to errands and chores. Romantic date nights make a welcome departure from a regular routine of laundry and grocery store runs. Cooking a new recipe together for a romantic dinner is the perfect way to sink into an evening of good food, great conversation, and uninterrupted time with your significant other.

If you’ve never cooked together before or don’t know where to start as far as recipes go , try starting with something that you both haven’t eaten before. The only exception might be if you’re cooking for kids – they’ll eat just about anything as long as it’s got cheese on it! If you choose something you’ve both always wanted to try but haven’t gotten around to yet, you’ll have the added bonus of being able to cross it off your “to-do” list.

If cooking is not your idea of a good time and you choose this route because it seems like something fun and interesting to do (dinner party, anyone?), consider how much cooking will be involved in making this dish. If time is short and you need a quick dinner, choose something that can be made relatively quickly . If planning ahead isn’t an issue and you’re looking for a romantic evening involving more preparation work, opt for something that requires more hands-on effort or multiple steps such as baking or roasting. Just make sure that each step doesn’t take all night.

As for recipes, there are plenty of options that can be quickly prepared or require minimal prep work. For meat and seafood lovers , try a spicy shrimp and pasta recipe or chicken and chorizo paella . If you prefer vegetarian fare , consider baked eggs with spinach and goat cheese or oven-roasted vegetable risotto .

If trying to impress your date with something new isn’t your goal, opt for a tried-and-true favorite such as lobster carbonara or marbled lemon ricotta cheesecake . Romantic dinners don’t have to be complicated! They just need to bring you closer together with good conversation, great food, and uninterrupted time.
